Russia drafted 141,000 recruits in spring call-up — below the planned target

Russia has concluded its spring military draft, incorporating 141,000 recruits — fewer than originally planned. The Russian defence minister also announced that over 8,000 drone specialists were trained in the first half of 2026. Independent monitoring group Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) confirmed the figures fell short of the set targets.
