2.69 billion people can't afford a healthy diet, UN report finds
A report by five UN agencies found that 2.69 billion people — one in three globally — cannot afford a healthy, nutritious diet. While global hunger fell for the third consecutive year in 2025, the report warns that reaching the zero-hunger target by 2030 will require "immense" effort. Experts are calling for urgent action to reduce the cost of fruit, vegetables and dairy products.
