Hidden dealer-installed alarms leave millions of US cars vulnerable to hacking
Security researchers warn that dealer-installed alarm systems fitted in millions of US vehicles can be remotely hacked to unlock, track and disable the cars. The devices were installed at dealerships — often even when buyers didn't want them — and were left in place regardless. Vehicle owners are urged to apply a security patch immediately to protect against the vulnerability.
