John Healey named UK Chancellor – Labour veteran replaces Reeves

John Healey, a Labour veteran and former defence secretary, has been appointed the new UK Chancellor of the Exchequer. He is regarded as a safe, experienced pair of hands and now takes charge of the government's finances. Healey previously resigned as defence secretary ahead of taking up the new role.
