New UK PM Burnham to scrap VAT on electricity bills from 1 October

New UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced the abolition of VAT on electricity bills from 1 October. The tax cut will be funded by money freed up after the government scrapped its digital identity programme. It marks Burnham's first major economic decision since taking office.
