China and Philippines summon each other's ambassadors after South China Sea clash

Beijing and Manila each summoned the other's ambassador on Tuesday after Chinese and Philippine sailors clashed at a disputed shoal in the South China Sea. China continues to claim sovereignty over nearly the entire strategically vital waterway. The incident has further inflamed already tense relations between the two countries over control of the region.
