NASA photos reveal Black Sea turns turquoise green every spring

NASA has shared satellite images showing the Black Sea temporarily changing colour from its characteristic dark navy to a vivid turquoise-green. The phenomenon occurs every spring and is caused by a large-scale phytoplankton bloom. Scientists are not surprised by the change, which is clearly visible from space before the water returns to its usual dark hue.
