EU hits AliExpress with record fine over consumer protection failures

The European Commission has imposed a record fine on AliExpress, accusing the Chinese e-commerce giant of failing to protect users from illegal, dangerous and counterfeit goods. It is the largest penalty of its kind under EU digital market rules. AliExpress must both pay the fine and overhaul how it operates.
