Bronze hippie monument on Ibiza honours the countercultural movement

A bronze sculpture by Ció Abellí stands in Ibiza, depicting a long-haired hippie father walking with his daughter, with a world map at their feet marking key hippie hubs: San Francisco, Amsterdam, Kathmandu, Goa and Ibiza. The statue is a three-dimensional recreation of a 1973 photograph taken by then-18-year-old photographer Toni Riera in Amsterdam's Vondelpark, capturing two strangers — a father and daughter — who turned out to be his most iconic image.
