Child protection failed mother of murdered 5-year-old Kumanjayi Little Baby
An interim review tabled in the Australian parliament found that the mother of five-year-old Warlpiri girl Kumanjayi Little Baby was "effectively" left alone to protect her children while escaping domestic violence, due to child protection authorities failing to adequately assess multiple threats. Despite those findings, the report was unable to draw a direct link between child protection referrals and the girl's alleged murder.
