Lviv honours Iryna Farion, nationalist who made anti-Polish statements
A memorial space dedicated to Iryna Farion, a Ukrainian linguist and radical nationalist activist murdered in July 2024, has been unveiled in Lviv. During her lifetime Farion was deeply divisive: she was accused of undermining Ukrainian unity during the war, made inflammatory anti-Polish statements, and quoted Adolf Hitler. The artistic installation in her honour has reignited debate about the limits of commemorating controversial figures.
