Alejandro Dominguez, president of CONMEBOL, hinted on social media that the 2030 World Cup could feature as many as 64 national teams, up from the current 48. The post appeared shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup final. No official FIFA decision on the matter has been announced.
