Scientists Identify the Rare Meteorite Type That Wiped Out the Dinosaurs

An international team of Earth scientists has identified the type of impactor responsible for the Cretaceous-Paleogene mass extinction as a rare class of rock originating in the outer Solar System. The finding narrows down the nature of the asteroid or comet that wiped out the dinosaurs approximately 66 million years ago.
