Niel Gow statue in Dunkeld honours the father of Scottish fiddle music

A life-size bronze statue of Niel Gow, an 18th-century Scottish fiddler widely regarded as the "father of Scottish fiddle music," stands at the road junction between Dunkeld and the village of Birnam in Scotland. Created by sculptor David Annand, the statue was unveiled in December 2020. It serves as the focal point of the annual Niel Gow Festival, a celebration of traditional Scottish music that draws visitors from across the country and beyond.
