EU Fines AliExpress Record €550m for Allowing Sale of Illegal Goods

The European Union has fined Chinese retailer AliExpress a record €550 million for allowing illegal goods to be sold on its platform. EU regulators found that the site permitted the sale of unsafe toys and counterfeit clothing. The penalty is the largest ever imposed by the EU on an e-commerce platform of this kind.
