Florida man hid malware in Steam games, stole $200K in crypto

The FBI arrested 21-year-old Florida resident Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins for allegedly embedding malware in Steam games that infected around 8,000 PCs. Together with two unnamed co-conspirators, he allegedly stole over $200,000 in cryptocurrency from victims, who were targeted using chatbots that identified users with large crypto holdings. The malware-laden games were promoted on Discord, Telegram, X and LinkedIn. Wilkins spent part of the stolen funds on UberEats gift cards, leaving a traceable trail that aided investigators.
