App Store added almost as many new apps in H1 2026 as in all of 2025

New App Store releases nearly doubled in the first half of 2026 compared to the whole of 2025, driven by the growing accessibility of "vibecoding" – AI-assisted app development. Despite the surge in supply, downloads grew by only 2%, suggesting the market is becoming saturated with little accompanying rise in user demand.
