Judit Polgár turns down Hungarian presidency despite Magyar's offer

World-renowned Hungarian chess grandmaster Judit Polgár has declined an offer to run for the Hungarian presidency, put forward by opposition leader Peter Magyar. Her candidacy had received full backing from Magyar's Tisza party. Polgár stated that she does not feel ready to take on the role of head of state.
