Toyota Sued Over Cookie Decline Button That Allegedly Did Nothing

A proposed class action was filed last week at Los Angeles County Superior Court accusing Toyota of tracking website visitors on Toyota.com even after they rejected third-party cookies via the site's own consent banner. The plaintiff claims that clicking "decline" had no actual effect and that tracking continued regardless. The lawsuit is based on a 1967 wiretapping law, the California Invasion of Privacy Act.
