Bachmann's "Przypadek F.": A Woman Destroyed by a Manipulative Psychiatrist
Polish publisher Wydawnictwo Filtry is reissuing "Przypadek F." by Ingeborg Bachmann, one of Austria's most influential writers and an inspiration for Peter Handke, Elfriede Jelinek and Thomas Bernhard. The novel follows a young woman who marries a much older Viennese psychiatrist who manipulates her into believing she is mentally ill. She eventually escapes with her brother to Africa. The reissue includes a preview excerpt published online.
