Kotula: Same-Sex Couples Could File Joint Taxes Without New Law

Government equality commissioner Katarzyna Kotula says a general interpretation issued by the finance minister would be enough to allow same-sex couples to file joint tax returns — no separate law, which could face a presidential veto, would be needed. Kotula announced she will spend the coming weeks persuading Finance Minister Andrzej Domański to issue such an interpretation.
