Von der Leyen, Macron and Zelensky Congratulate New UK PM Burnham

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she had a "very good first conversation" with new UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and pledged to continue their "excellent cooperation". Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also responded to the change of leadership in London. European leaders signalled readiness to maintain close ties with the new British government.
