Rings of Power season 3 to show forging of the One Ring with darker tone

The creators of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have confirmed that season three will depict Sauron forging the One Ring, one of Middle-earth's most pivotal moments. Co-showrunners Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne told Empire magazine the season will be considerably darker in tone, with Sauron now fully revealed as a villain for the first time. Charlie Vickers returns to play Sauron, describing it as one of the greatest roles he could play.
