Polish fuel prices set to rise further – expert warns 8 zł per litre may become the norm
Energy policy expert Dr Bartłomiej Nowak of the Vistula Academy of Business and Finance told Onet that fuel prices in Poland will keep rising, with 8 złoty per litre potentially becoming the new normal. He argues the Tusk government has no fiscal room to introduce a new fuel-subsidy programme comparable to the historic CPN scheme. While politically damaging for the ruling coalition, Nowak says the price increases are unavoidable given current economic constraints.
