Iran Held and Beat French Embassy Officials in 'Extremely Serious' Intimidation Act

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced on Monday that two French embassy officials were detained and interrogated for hours by Iranian security services in Iran on Sunday. One of the officials was also subjected to physical abuse. Barrot condemned the incident as an "extremely serious act of intimidation."
