Canadian smoke warnings triggered by US wildfires crossing the border

Officials in British Columbia, Canada, issued air quality warnings on Saturday after smoke from US wildfires drifted northward across the border. The development reverses the situation from days earlier, when Donald Trump threatened Canada with tariffs over alleged mismanagement of its fires after Canadian smoke blanketed major US cities. Thousands of lightning strikes in the north-east sparked the new blazes on the US side.
