New Orleans Police Considered Arming Drones, Then Quietly Changed the Policy

A draft version of the New Orleans Police Department's drone manual, published on its website in June, allowed drones to be equipped with weapons with written approval from the Police Superintendent. The current version, updated on July 1, reverses that stance entirely, prohibiting drones from carrying any weapons or hazardous materials of any kind.
