Prosecutors Identify Man Whose Mummified Body Lay Undiscovered for Years in Poznań

Prosecutors have confirmed the identity of a man whose mummified body was discovered in late January 2025 in a flat in the Piątkowo district of Poznań. The man, named Józef, had died in his apartment, but his death came to light only when a bailiff and police knocked on his door. His body had lain undiscovered in the flat for years without neighbours or authorities noticing.
