NASA's Curiosity Rover Finds Evidence of Ancient Martian Sandstorm

NASA's Curiosity rover captured images at a location nicknamed "Jawbone Canyon" showing rock formations scientists believe are the aftermath of an extreme ancient sandstorm. Winds were likely powerful enough to push sand into rippling wave-like structures. The finding adds to evidence that Mars once had a thick atmosphere, flowing rivers and expansive lakes billions of years ago.
