State actors exploit climate disasters to spread disinformation, IRIS report finds
A report by France's Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) finds that climate disinformation has become a "tool for destabilisation" wielded by state actors. As extreme weather events increase in frequency, so does the scale of information manipulation surrounding them. The report's authors warn that climate crises are being deliberately exploited to erode public trust and undermine institutions.
