Fireweed set to bloom near the Tatras in mid-July, drawing crowds of tourists

Fireweed (wierzbówka kiprzyca) is expected to begin blooming near the Tatra Mountains in the coming days, around the turn of July and August, drawing hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. For roughly two weeks the plant creates a spectacular carpet of colour across mountain meadows. The exact timing of the bloom depends on weather conditions.
