Scientists are testing two promising techniques to destroy PFAS, the persistent "forever chemicals" that accumulate in water and resist conventional treatment. The first method uses collapsing vapour bubbles to generate extreme heat and reactive molecules that break PFAS apart. The second employs cold plasma and rising gas bubbles to draw PFAS to the water's surface and decompose them.
