LSU researchers create room-temperature quantum material from a thin gold layer

Researchers at Louisiana State University have developed a quantum material that functions at room temperature, overcoming the major barrier that such materials previously required cooling to near absolute zero. It consists of a thin layer of gold deposited on a glass chip. The breakthrough could dramatically expand practical applications of quantum materials outside the laboratory.
