AT&T and Ericsson Show 5G Networks Can Track Rogue Drones

AT&T and Ericsson demonstrated in a proof-of-concept test that existing 5G cellular networks can detect, identify and track rogue drones that may threaten public safety. The system requires no new infrastructure, relying on the same base stations already used by mobile phones. The technology could give authorities a new tool to monitor unauthorised unmanned aerial vehicles.
