Zebra crossings without vertical signs give pedestrians no priority — expert calls for removal

Not every painted zebra crossing gives pedestrians the right of way — only those with vertical road signs are legally recognised crossings. Experts warn that so-called "fake" crossings are a dangerous trap for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike. They are calling for such crossings to be removed to eliminate the confusion they cause on roads.
