A resident of Świnoujście picking berries in a forest near Fort Gerhard and the Underground City stumbled upon a dug-out pit surrounded by fragments of an aluminium structure and traces of burnt ammunition. Experts believe the site may be the crash location of an Allied aircraft from World War II. The find is considered potentially one of the most significant wartime discoveries in the region in recent years.
