Meta goes on trial in Tennessee over Instagram's alleged teen addiction design
The state of Tennessee launched a civil trial against Meta Platforms in Nashville on Monday, alleging that Instagram was deliberately designed to push teenagers into compulsive use and worsen the youth mental health crisis. Mark Zuckerberg is alleged to have been aware of the platform's harmful effects. Reuters reports this is one of several similar cases against Meta set to proceed across US states in the coming weeks.
