Doctor who exposed South Hospital scandal now suspected of overcharging NFZ by 1.1m PLN
Dr Emil Jędrzejewski, the surgeon who triggered the South Hospital scandal, is now himself the target of a prosecution referral from the head of the National Health Fund (NFZ). An audit found that procedures on more than 130 patients in his department were systematically overcharged, costing the fund an excess of 1.1 million PLN. The overpayment may have boosted a contract that guaranteed the doctor a 10% commission on the value of services performed.
