Polish government dodges hospital closures despite financial crisis
Capping doctors' salaries is a cosmetic fix that does nothing to address the financial collapse of Polish hospitals, according to analysts. The real solution — closing a significant number of facilities — is being avoided by PM Tusk and Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna, who fear the political fallout. As a result, hospitals may collapse on their own, leaving some patients without access to care.
