Germany marks 82nd anniversary of the failed July 20 plot to kill Hitler

Germany on Monday commemorated the 82nd anniversary of Operation Valkyrie, the failed assassination attempt against Adolf Hitler on 20 July 1944. Ceremonies honoured participants in the anti-Nazi resistance movement. Separately, Germany's top diplomat Thomas Wadephul departed for a diplomatic tour of African nations.
