Poland and China have entered a race for global copper deposits, driven by rapidly growing demand for the metal. Electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, the energy transition and rising electricity consumption are all fuelling the global appetite for copper. Beijing, as the established dominant player, is unlikely to cede ground easily.
