Strong winds capsize boats near Żywiec — 61 people evacuated over the weekend

Water rescue teams from the Beskid WOPR carried out 26 interventions over the weekend on two lakes near Żywiec. Strong winds capsized rowing boats, kayaks and larger sailing boats, with 61 people evacuated in total. The head of the Żywiec WOPR described Sunday as record-breaking in terms of both wind strength and the number of incidents.
