European Gas Prices Jump from €40 to €59/MWh After Middle East Escalation

European natural gas prices have surged following renewed escalation in the Middle East conflict. August gas delivery contracts now stand at €59 per megawatt-hour, up from €40/MWh at the end of June. The earlier wave of market optimism on energy markets has clearly reversed.
