Polish doctors demand pay rises after Health Ministry sets wage caps at 240 PLN/hour

Following the Health Ministry's announcement of wage caps for medical staff, doctors have begun demanding immediate pay rises — some hospital directors have been told that a rate of 240 PLN per hour is owed. Prof. Jarosław Fedorowski, head of the Polish Federation of Hospitals, confirmed the reports to Interia Biznes. Experts warn that without changing the methodology for valuing specialist work, the healthcare system will not improve, and argue that pay should also reflect productivity.
