Dreyfus urges consideration of ban on protests outside synagogues and Jewish schools
Former Australian attorney general Mark Dreyfus has called on governments to consider banning protests outside synagogues and Jewish schools, citing a 2019 High Court ruling that upheld 150-metre safe-access zones around abortion clinics in Victoria and Tasmania. Dreyfus made the remarks while testifying before the royal commission on antisemitism and social cohesion. He also revealed he had personally received antisemitic abuse and been labelled a "genocidal Zionist".
