Warsaw's Dudziarska estate — used to exile "problem" residents — set to be demolished
The Dudziarska housing estate in Warsaw, surrounded by railway lines, a waste incineration plant and a women's detention centre, was used for years by the city to relocate "problem" and "unadapted" residents. The lack of shops, schools or a kindergarten, combined with a concentration of socially excluded people, led to rising crime. The failed social experiment is now set to be wound up for good.
