Electric BMW M3 drops "i" prefix — quad-motor setup could exceed 700 hp

BMW's electric M3 will simply carry the M3 badge, dropping the "i" prefix, as confirmed by M division boss Frank van Meel at Goodwood. Fresh spy shots from the Nürburgring show the prototype with less camouflage, revealing a hood vent echoing the M Concept Neue Klasse. A quad-motor powertrain is expected to deliver over 700 hp with advanced torque vectoring, and BMW plans to sell the electric and gasoline M3 side by side.
