Amazon starts second Bond casting round – Elordi and Turner deemed poor fits

2026 has been a great year for James Bond fans, and not just because Amazon continues to dish out new information regarding the next 007 film that’s been in the works since last year. Back in May, IO Interactive finally released 007 First Light out into the world, and the game was met with such an overwhelmingly positive reception that many fans have proclaimed Patrick Gibson ( Dexter: Original Sin ) as the best fit to take over the role of James Bond in live-action. It’s unlikely that this will happen, though, especially after the latest casting update confirmed that Amazon is soon to begin the second round of auditions for Bond. No names have been shared yet, but former casting director Debbie McWilliams admits that she thinks popular names like Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner are poor choices to play 007.
