Trump had to celebrate Spain's World Cup win after calling them "hopeless bad people"

Donald Trump, who in March called Spain a "loser" and its people "hopeless, bad people" and threatened to cut all trade with Madrid, was forced to personally hand the World Cup to Spain's captain Rodri in front of King Felipe VI, PM Pedro Sánchez and over one billion TV viewers. Before kick-off Trump had publicly backed Argentina and Messi. The moment was widely seen as a political embarrassment for the president.
