US activates secret Alien Terrorist Removal Court for deportations

The US Justice Department has activated the Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC), an obscure tribunal created in 1996 that has never previously been used. Judge James Boasberg had suggested it was the natural forum for national-security deportation cases. Proceedings before the court are classified, and those facing deportation have limited access to legal defence.
